Alarm clock set at 06.00 with a beautiful dawn progressively illuminated by a gentle sun. Let’s remember that we are in the wonderful setting of the Uccellina national park in the province of Grosseto.
Our Maremma adventure holiday starts from one of the most beautiful spots in the park. Here are the Uccellina mountains that are actually hills around 450 meters high from which you can enjoy a fantastic show. In fact, from here you can dominate a good part of the coast with the islands of Corsica, Elba and Giglio The breakfast served by the farm is pure Tuscan ytadition with bread, honey and organic jams. We leave for Talamone for a short visit to this delightful piece of the Maremma. Talamone is a town of ancient origins. Founded by the Etruscans, it was then a Roman outpost in a famous battle against the Celts in 225 BC. In the Middle Ages it was a fief of the Aldobrandeschi family until the conquest by Siena in the 14th century. From Talamone the Italian national hero Giuseppe Garibaldi sailed to liberate Sicily in 1869 with his famous 1000 volunteers.
Next stage Marina di Alberese to do SUP and Kayak with the precious collaboration of T-rafting. This is an excursion in Stand Up Paddle (SUP) and canoeing. A fascinating sea crossing along the coast to discover the uncontaminated coves of the Maremma Park accessible only by sea. The mild weather also gives us a relaxing packed lunch in the beautiful pine forest of Marina d’Alberese.
Now it’s time to change adventure and we move to Pian D’alma near Puntala. With our guide we spend 3 unforgettable hours of trekking on horseback. An opportunity to immerse yourself in nature and have fun. Wonderful these scenarios that characterize one of the most evocative stretches of coast of Tuscany. A thick vegetation accompanies us along the dirt paths on which the hooves of horses evoke suggestive sounds.
Finally we get to the sea and to the unspoiled beach of Cala Violina. Truly our Maremma adventure holiday was not to be missed. This was also the common mantra of our guests. And then down in the water to take a nice bath with the horses again thanks to the wonderful sun that accompanies us.
Our Maremma adventure holiday comes to an end. Farewell aperitif at the riding school in Pian D’alma and return to Montecatini for dinner and overnight.
