Who are the daring contemporary adventurers? Those who participated in the discovery of Tuscany thanks to the new Tuscany Adventure Times project. This project brings together the offers of outdoor tourism and adventure vacations in Tuscany. The prestigious Adventure Travel World Summit was held In Montecatini from 15 to 18 October 2018 . This is the first time in Italy and the third in Europe.
750 experts from 67 countries around the world participated in the Kermesse adventure vacations in Tuscany. Tour operators, journalists and industry writers, influencers and tourist agencies. It has been a prestigious appointment to which Mugello & Tuscany has made a valuable contribution. We will return to this experience in the next post.
It was not just a matter of discussing adventure tourism issues. In fact, the experts arrived in Montecatini, have also had the opportunity to travel throughout the region. So they were able to get a hands-on blueprint of the ideal adventure vacations in Tuscany. They were able to experience first hand the proposals related to what is called the outdoor world. From Mugello to the lands of Pinocchio and Leonardo da Vinci up to Garfagnana and Lunigiana. There were so many opportunities to experience what adventure vacations in Tuscany look like.
Tuscany has an impressive morphological and climatic variety. Tuscany has the largest forested area in Italy with over 1,200,000 hectares. It has a beautiful coastline with 6 different shorelines. They are Costa Apuana, Costa del Sole and Archipelago, Riviera Lucchese, Versilia, Costa degli Etruschi and Costa d’Argento. Furthermore it sports natural and artificial lakes, national parks, waterways and river parks, cities of art and unmatched cuisine. Finally, there are 7 UNESCO heritage sites including one in Mugello: the villas and the Medici parks of Cafaggiolo, Trebbio and Pratolino.
For adventure vacations in Tuscany you’ll really feel spoilt by choice although you must account for physical preparation and age. Pleasant walks on the Via Francigena and in Valdorcia. A bit ‘more challenging excursions on the paths of the Upper Mugello. True climbing with ferrata close to 2000 meters on the Apuan Alps.
