FORMULA 1 GP AT THE MUGELLO CIRCUIT

Ferrari will celebrate the n ° 1000 GP of its glorious history on the circuit it owns.  September 13, 2020 will exceptionally see the Formula 1 GP at the Mugello Circuit.

After weeks of increasingly insistent rumors, confirmation has arrived from the FIA and F1. The Formula 1 GP on the Mugello circuit will take place the week after the Monza race. The official name of the race is  Tuscany Ferrari 1000 GP.

As we said above, Formula 1 GP at the Mugello circuit will be very special for Ferrari. In fact, Ferrari will celebrate the 1,000th GP of its glorious history on its own circuit since 1988. Unfortunately, the race will be held on without the public like all the major sporting events of the moment.

For now, F1 has also confirmed the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi on 27 September 2020. For the moment, Formula 1 has not made official any more GPs. The goal is to achieve 16 GPs on the calendar. The most difficult part to solve concerns the American part, with the USA and Brazil at risk of cancellation.

Chase Carey, F1 CEO said:”Delighted to see Formula 1 GP at the Mugello circuit in the 2020 calendar. I want to thank the promoter for the hard work he has done to bring this event to life. I know that all of our fans are excited about seeing a race on this fantastic circuit. It will be a pleasure for all Ferrari fans to celebrate the 1000 Scuderia Grand Prix“.

For his part, Mattia Binotto team principal of the Ferrari team said he was happy for the event. Being able to celebrate the 1000 GP on the family circuit is one of the best news of the year for Ferrari.

The Mugello circuit is certainly one of the most beautiful tracks for both motorcycles and cars. It is a varied circuit that well enhances both the characteristics of the cars and  drivers. In addition, the Mugello circuit is also a system devoted to sustainability.

Ferrari at the Mugello circuit is building a framework that has made sustainability its priority. A green political commitment that led Ferrari to reach levels of excellence in Italy and worldwide.

Ferrari team manager Mattia Binotto then wanted to thank in particular Chase Carey president and CEO of Formula 1. Carey said Binotto “knows and appreciates the value that our team represents for this sport, so much so as to recognize the anniversary in the official event name “.

Then there are two key partners for achieving this goal. First of all, the territory that will host the event.

The Tuscany Region is one of the most beautiful in our country, rich in artistic treasures and breathtaking landscapes. Then the city of Florence, a unique jewel in the world for its architectural beauty and the masterpieces that can be admired there.

Binotto continues: «For me personally, the Mugello is linked to the memories of many test days spent together with the team. The aim was to try to improve the car, sometimes dreaming of challenging our opponents right there. Can’t think that today we are going to live on that track an event like a Grand Prix. It is a beautiful emotion! I can’t wait for what was then a dream to come true on September 13 with Formula 1 GP at the Mugello circuit. “
